Join the Satyananda Yoga family for an in-depth exploration of the CHAKRAS  -  the subtle psychic centers of the personality - and the TATTWAS - the fundamental building blocks of the entire creation. Learn the relevance of these ancient yogic systems, and how a yogic lifestyle can help to bring them into harmony and balance, giving one access to greater overall health, vitality, clarity and inner peace.

Teachings will be drawn from the Bihar/ Satyananda Yoga Tradition and will include asana, pranayama, yoga nidra, mantra chanting, havan, satsang and kirtan.

This retreat is open to all participants, with the intent to support your existing yoga journey, providing classical yoga teachings and practices in a yogic environment led by experienced members of the Satyananda Yoga teaching community.

YANA is delighted to announce that Swami Anandananda, Acharya of the Satyananda Ashram in Italy, will be joining this event. A direct disciple of Swami Satyananda, he has dedicated his life to serving the yoga mission, bringing his Guru’s teaching around the world.


Instructors & Facilitators

This weekend is facilitated and led by sannyasins and teachers of Satyananda Yoga in North America, featuring special guest satsangs with Swami Anandananda Saraswati. Swami Anandananda met his guru and spiritual master, Swami Satyananda Saraswati, in 1979 and in 1980 was initiated into the tradition of Sannyasa. Yogacharya of Satyananda Ashram Italia, since 1980 he has been teaching and spreading yoga under the instructions of his guru, specialising in the advanced techniques of yoga like kriya yoga, tattwa shuddhi, nada yoga, mantra and other techniques of meditation according to the Satyananda Yoga tradition. In 1982, he founded the “Scuola di Yoga Satyananda Ashram Italia”(https://www.satyanandaitalia.net) and the following year, the publishing house “Edizioni Satyananda Ashram Italia”. He has given seminars and workshops at international conferences in Europe, India, Australia, Colombia and South Africa. He conducts yoga teacher training courses and in service training lectures and seminar on different aspects and branches of yoga. Swami Anandananda attends and participates to events and programs held at Munger and Rikhia on regular basis. Since 2013 is a Member of the Yoga Vidya Council and he is also a Member of the Governing Body of Satyananda Yoga Academy Europe.

  • What are the dates for the Yoga Lifestyle Weekend?

    September 12, 13, 14, 2025 ( 3 days). The weekend begins Friday, Sept 12th at 6pm and ends Sunday, Sept 14th at 3pm

  • Where is the Yoga Lifestyle Weekend?

  • Do I need to bring a yoga mat?

    It's best to bring your own, but one will be provided if you do not.

  • What level of yogic practice do I need to attend?

    All levels are welcome.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

    Cancellation Policy for the In Person option: a. cancel before August 22nd, receive a 75% refund. b. cancel between August 23-September 06, receive a 50% refund. c. there is NO refund for cancellations after September 07th 2025. Cancellation Policy for Online: there are no refunds once you register as this is a digital product.

  • What is the registration deadline?

    Registration closes on AUGUST 15th for IN PERSON attendance. Registration closes on September 10th for accessing the retreat ONLINE.

  • Is accommodation provided?

    No, but we looking at hotels, Air Bnb and VRBO in Montclair, Bloomfield, Maplewood, or Nutley. We can also help link you up with other participants who will be coming if you wish to share accommodation and transport.

  • How do I get there?

    The closest airport to the Yoga School of New Jersey is Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). Bloomfield is about a 30min drive away (depending on traffic). Uber, Lyft and taxis are available to and from the airport (approx $55 one way). The exact address and details are provided once you register.
